Ban on
Birds and Birds products importation
Up to now, no case of avian flue has been detected
in Egypt. In order to protect itself from possible
avian flue infected imports, Egypt issued
Ministerial Decree No. 1326/2005 of 20/10/2005,
which prohibits imports of all kinds of live birds,
their meat and their products into Egypt for 3
months without any exceptions, “until the situation
of Bird flue epidemic becomes clear”. Decree No.
1327/2005, issued on the same day, prohibits imports
of powder of bird feathers and residues of poultry
slaughterhouses.
