condemns the terrorist attacks in Sinai

Javier Solana, European Union High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, condemned the bomb attacks committed last night in the Taba area.

"I want to condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks that took place last night in the sea resort area of Taba (Egypt). I want first of all to express my sympathy and my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the Egyptian and Israeli authorities. I have contacted both governments to express the full support of the EU in this tragic moment.

Many innocent Egyptian workers and Israeli holiday makers have paid the highest price of a cycle of violence that must stop."
