EU Presidency condemns Beirut
bombing
The EU Presidency has issued a statement in which it
expresses its deep shock about yesterday’s bombing in
Beirut, which claimed the lives of Lebanese Member of
Parliament Walid Eido, his son and the people
accompanying him.
The EU Presidency condemns the attack “in the strongest
terms,” describing it as “another targeted attempt to
destabilize Lebanon” that is “unacceptable and will not
succeed.”
The statement calls upon all parties in Lebanon and the
region to take a decisive stand against the violence and
to refrain from everything that could further
destabilise the domestic situation in the country.
