Call for proposals from MEDA producer/scriptwriter teams

MEDA Films Development is seeking applications for its 2008 programme from producer/scriptwriter teams from the MEDA countries who have a feature-length fiction film project in development.

As with the previous two programmes, chosen participants will attend three eight-day workshops in Marrakech, Morocco, the aims of which are to enable scriptwriter and producer teams to adopt new approaches to upstream conceiving and thinking on feature-length films and to promote synergies in the team, an essential element for the successful development of any film project.

The deadline for submission of proposals is 31 December 2007.

MEDA Films Development is financed by the European Union within the framework of the Euromed Audiovisual II regional programme. Its objectives include the promotion of cooperation among MEDA country producers and scriptwriters, MEDA country producers and their European counterparts, encouraging better training of professionals and new aspirants of the MEDA countries in the film industry, fighting piracy and sponsoring well-produced films in the MEDA countries.
